Blue Whale

Blue whales(Balaenoptera musculus) are the largest animals ever known to have lived on Earth.These giant marine mammals length up to 100 feet (30 meters) and upwards of 200 tons.Blue whales are baleen whales, they have “baleen plates” instead of teeth.Baleen, is made of keratin just like fingernails and hair. Each whale has many plates that hang down from its upper jaw, one after the other. & it's diet is small crustaceans known as krill,in the surface their coloring is more a mottled blue-gray & it has small dorsal fin.

,blue whales have twin blowholes & spout just straight surface 10-25 seconds & deep dive. surface again my take 10-15minutes accroding to it's moving,when it's feeding it comes to surface often normally it can be seen the fluke when it deep dives

Sperm Whale

The sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) is the largest toothed whale and average length of mature male of sperm whale about 16m,normally males are much larger than males,these giant mainly feeds on squid & they dive very deep finding large squids, sperm whales have unique features, it's head is huge 1/3 of the body size & head is blunt and asymmetrical with blow hole being on left. and brain is the largest brain ever & it's around 9kg,

Sperm Whale has spermaceti(semi liquid wax) organ in their huge head and their ambergris is found in the intestines,these ambergris is used in perfume industry and cost millions hence sperm whale is more threaten by the human hunters

Bryde Whale

Bryde's whale (Balaenoptera brydei)named for Johan Bryde, a Norwegian man who built the first whaling stations in South Africa bryde's whale also the member of baleen family which means it also feed on plankton (like krill and copepods), crustaceans ,schooling fish (like anchovies, herring).Males are usually slightly smaller than females.These rorquals can reach lengths of about 40-55 ft Bryde's whales prefer highly productive tropical, subtropical and warm temperate waters.They usually appear individually or in pairs,. Their blow is columnar or bushy, about 10–13 feet (3.0–4.0 m) high.it's repoerted they blow or exhale while under water. Bryde's whales surface at irregular intervals and can change directions for unknown reasons,

most whale watcher miss identify this whale as blue whale but bryde whale dorsal fin is bit larger and curved while blue whale has short backward-curving (falcate),most better way to distinguish bryde whale is not showing it's fluke while diving.(lobtailing)

Killer Whale

Pilot Whale

Pilot whales are cetaceans which is dark black or dark grey in color & adult females reach a body length of about 5.5 m, males grow up to 7.2 m,they are in two species as long finned and short finned, Generally you will find those with the shorter fins in warm water,distribution of short finned pilot whale is all over the world,Their diet includes mostly preferred squid, octopus, herring, and various small fish.Observation of the Pilot Whales indicate that they team work in order to get the food that they want,Both species live in groups of 10–30, but some groups may number 200 or more.

Pilot whales generally take several breaths before diving for a few minutes. Feeding dives may last over ten minutes.

Bottle Nose Dolpin

bottle nose dolphin is well known as intelligant marine mammal which is grey in color & it can be grown up to 2.8 meters. Bottlenose dolphins live in groups typically of 15–30 members, called pods, but group size varies single individuals up to number of thousands. Their diets consist mainly of forage fish. Dolphins often work together to find fish schools, but they also hunt individually. Bottlenose Dolphins use a technique called echolocation to find food and navigate. This technique is performed by sending ultrasounds through the water which is bounced back to the dolphin and then is detected by the dolphin in an organ called mellon which decodes the message very much like a sonar.

dolphins are good communicators which communicate through burst pulsed sounds, whistles, and body language & have sharp eyesight,normally it travel 5-12km/hour speed but it can reach 35kmh speed when it required.
